Bigg Boss 8 winner Gautam Gulati reveals why he broke contract with Ekta Kapoor: ‘My role was cut, kept calling but no response’

Actor Gautam Gulati, who rose to prominence after winning the eighth season of the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, has said that he was left stranded by the industry after winning the show.

While speaking with Navbharat Times online, Gautam Gulati revealed that his actual struggle began after he won the reality show. He shared that he had no helping hand in the industry and that he couldn’t do the kind of films he wanted to. He also revealed that in his very first film, Ekta Kapoor cut his role. He revealed that he had a 3 film deal with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Films, but his role had been chopped from the very first film, after which he tried contacting them, but was ignored. Defeated, he revealed that he broke his contract with them.
“I had a three-film deal with Balaji. I was very happy. But when my role was cut in the very first film, I was disappointed. I thought what was happening to me? After the first film, I kept calling and got no answer. Defeated, I had to break the contract.”
Gautam will next be seen in Salman’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, which also features Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Randeep Hooda. Directed by Prabhudeva, the film was initially supposed to release around Eid, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
