Sushant Singh Rajput's co-star in 'Drive' film Vikramjeet Virk says he doubts if a "happy and funny man" like Sushant Singh Rajput could have taken his own life. "That guy was very well-read and cheerful. On the sets of 'Drive,' Sushant Singh was one of the few people who would be reading books. Whenever the late actor spoke he was either saying something learned or funny. How can someone like Sushant Singh Rajput take his own life?" says Virk.
Answering a question about the disappointment over Sushant film release on the OTT platform instead of theatre he says, "Yes, naturally we were all disappointed over this because we had invested over one and a half years waiting for the release. But, I do not think that could have weighed so heavily on Sushant Singh Rajput that he became depressed. All those claims about Sushant being depressed to seem highly improbable to me. I have worked with him and known him so closely for so long."
Vikramjeet Virk relates to Sushant Singh in his background since like the late actor, Virk too hails from a small town, without any godfather in the film industry.
About the Nepotism in the film industry Virk says "Nepotism exists in every profession including the film industry (Bollywood). Every director/producer/actor will first give a break to his family member than an outsider one. Though if you have talent as Sushant Singh Rajput did, you are bound to make it on your own too. But, it could take years for the kid of a non-star to make his space in the film industry, which is not the case for star kids. Yes if star kids lack talent, eventually they will stop getting work for some time but they are given the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th chance. While for a non-star kid like Sushant, one flop could mean being out of work for a long time. And all those years of their struggle can make them lose they're fine years of youth & also the chance to play young, lead heroes. But that didn't happen with Sushant Singh Rajput. He was getting back-to-back films and was also charging a good amount as his fee. Sushant had everything going for him."
